Invite Lead Ted Jnr and our educators to your school to help your students learn about being LeadSmart with our fun interactive Lead Ted Roadshow!
Each K-2 incursion session runs for approximately 45 minutes to an hour and will engage your students in activities to help them develop knowledge and skills to apply LeadSmart behaviours in their daily lives.
Throughout each session students will:
- Understand that lead can be found in lots of places in Broken Hill. It occurs naturally in the environment and has accumulated over time from historical and contemporary mining activities. Lead can also be found in older paint, in and around homes.
- Understand that lead is harmful to the human body and can build up over time through a variety of exposure pathways.
- Learn that there are a number of LeadSmart strategies that can be implemented into our daily lives to reduce the risk of lead harm.
- Understand that a full stomach will help reduce the amount of lead absorbed into the body. It is important to have a healthy diet high in iron, calcium and vitamin C.
Register your interest by filling out the form and we will contact you shortly to confirm the date.
